The Wyoming Valley is in store for another hot week, but the area could also get some thunderstorms into tonight.

According to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this morning and last through the evening. There is a chance the thunderstorms that develop could become severe.

No watches or warnings have been issued for Luzerne County.

The forecast

Mostly cloudy skies are expected today, and showers and thunderstorms will be likely after 3 p.m. Up to a quarter of an inch of total rainfall is possible, but more could fall in thunderstorms. The high will be near 92.

Mostly cloudy skies will gradually become clear tonight, and there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the low will be around 71.

Sunny skies will return Tuesday, with a high near 90. Clear skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 63.

Sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with a high near 89. Mostly clear skies will carry over into Wednesday night, with a low around 66.
