The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a flash flood for portions of Northeast Pennsylvania for Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne norther Pike, Southern Wayne, Susquehanna and Wyoming counties.

In Luzerne County Wilkes-Barre, Pittston, West Wyoming, Exeter, West Pittston and Wyoming are anticipated to be affected.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning will extend from midnight on Saturday through Sunday morning.

Flash flooding, they said, is a result of heavy showers and thunderstorms that moved across the area on Saturday, with heavy rain expected to move into the region overnight through Sunday morning.

River flooding is not expected.
