WILKES-BARRE — Police are searching for a teenage girl who was reported missing on Sunday.

Wilkes-Barre police said Julissa Velez, 16, was reported missing by her grandmother after a friend reportedly saw her in Allentown.

The grandmother most recently had contact with Velez on Sept. 16, according to police, who released a picture of the girl but did not provide a specific description of her.

Anyone with information on Velez’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department at 570-208-4200.
