The chance for rain will plague the Wyoming Valley for most of the weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 55 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and light rain was reported.

Periods of rain are expected before 2 p.m. today, followed by a chance of showers into the evening hours. Up to half an inch of rain is possible, and the high will be near 64.

Cloudy skies will follow into tonight, along with a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the low will be around 54.

Cloudy skies will round out the week on Friday, along with showers likely after 11 a.m. Up to a half an inch of total rainfall is possible, and the high will be near 61.

Those cloudy skies will carry over into Friday night, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible, and the low will be around 55.

Showers will once again be likely on Saturday, but no precipitation amounts have been predicted. The high will be near 67.

Cloudy skies are predicted for Saturday night, and there will be a 50 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 58.

Mostly cloudy skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. The high will be near 71.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Sunday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 56.
