WILKES-BARRE — What started out as a domestic dispute ended with a man facing charges after a brief struggle with officers, according to police.

Police said that at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a domestic dispute in the area of South Franklin Street. The victim reported that Nicholas W. Harrison, 20, of Wilkes-Barre, assaulted her and caused minor facial injuries.

Upon officers’ arrival, Harrison was allegedly in a confrontation with a bystander. Harrison then allegedly try to assault an officer before fleeing on foot.

Harrison was captured a short time later and taken into custody after a brief struggle, police said. While in a holding cell at police headquarters, Harrison allegedly attempted to damage cell block facilities.

Harrison is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, institutional vandalism, criminal mischief, and terroristic threats.
