WILKES-BARRE — Police are searching for a man who allegedly punched and robbed a woman after she was involved in a crash.

Police said that at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, a woman reported to police that she took money from an ATM at the Turkey Hill on North Washington Street. The woman then began to drive on North Washington when another vehicle hit hers from behind, police said.

The woman excited her vehicle, and a man allegedly punched her in the face and took money she had just gotten from the ATM.

It was not clear if the suspect was the same person who struck her vehicle. The police report also did not indicate how much money the suspect allegedly got away with.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s with a full beard. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark pants.
