Rain is expected to return to the Wyoming Valley in the latter part of the week, and the region could even see some snow into Wednesday night.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 42 degrees as of 5:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with partly cloudy skies reported.

Partly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 50. Partly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 31.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with a high near 46.

Rain and snow are likely after 2 a.m. Wednesday night, but less than half an inch of snow is expected. The low will be around 35.

Rain is likely on Thursday, but no rainfall amounts have been predicted. The high will be near 48.

Showers will continue to be likely before 2 a.m. Thursday night, with a low around 40.
