LEHMAN TOWNSHIP — During a reorganization meeting on Tuesday, township supervisors voted to keep in place their leadership structure, re-appointing Dave Sutton as chairman, Ray Iwanoski as vice-chairman and Alvin Cragle as treasurer.

The board also voted to appoint Marian De Angelis as secretary at a salary of $39,250, Douglas Ide as roadmaster at a salary of $12,875, Jack Haley as the solicitor for the supervisors and planning commission at a rate of $750 per month, and Peggy Moyer as tax collector at a rate of $18,000 per year, which is less than 5 percent of the total collected.

In addition, the board made the following appointments to the police department: Howard Kocher as chief of police at a salary of $51,500, Mark Liparela at $44,600 and Harold Cain III at $39,000.

Other appointments included: James Welby as zoning officer, attorney Donald Karpovich as counsel for the Zoning and Uniform Construction Code boards, Steven Egenski as sewer inspection officer, and James Chamberlain, Elizabeth Chamberlain and Rachel Simmonette as township auditors. Iwanoski was appointed head of the police department.

During the regular meeting that followed, Michael Pitcavage, of Shavertown, was sworn in as a new part-time police officer.

The board also voted to approve an ordinance granting non-exclusive cable television franchises for 10-year terms each with Frontier and Comcast.
