WILKES-BARRE — A man accused of inappropriately touching a juvenile, then telling the alleged victim it would be their “secret,” is facing charges.

Frederick Goslin, 61, faces charges of indecent assault of a person under the age of 13 and corruption of minors.

According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to a residence on West Maple Street on July 23 to investigate the alleged inappropriate touching of a juvenile by an adult male.

Upon arrival, officers alleged the suspect, identified as Goslin, fled when he learned police were on the way.

The victim reported being inappropriately touched by Goslin during the early-morning hours of July 23. Police said the victim then used a family member’s cell phone to reach another relative.

The victim also told police Goslin offered $5 after one encounter, and allegedly said “this will be our little secret.”

Police said the victim was interviewed at the Luzerne County Children’s Advocacy Center in August, and provided information that was consistent with the initial report.

Goslin was interviewed at police headquarters on Nov. 14, and police said he was given a Miranda warning and waived his right to counsel. Goslin denied the alleged inappropriate touching during the interview, according to police.

Court documents indicate Goslin was arraigned on his charges Monday, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Thomas Malloy at 10 a.m. on Feb. 2.

Goslin is jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.
