HANOVER TWP. — Police arrested a township man after he allegedly participated in selling heroin to undercober police officers.

According to police, Cleveland Tyrone Haynes, of Mark Drive, was arrested at 7:30 a.m. Sunday after a search warrant was served at Mark Drive in the Marion Terrace Apartments.

The Luzerne County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force assisted the township police in serving the warrant. Heroin, marijuana, cash and a cell phone were seized, police said.

Police said the warrant was served after they had made drug buys from Haynes.

Haynes was charged with one felony count each of delivery of a controlled substance and intent to deliver a controlled substance. He was also charged with one misdemeanor charge of heroin possession.

He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Joseph D. Zola and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 straight cash.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Feb. 21 before Zola.
