WILKES-BARRE — Police say a man nearly lost his ear after being assaulted during a domestic dispute early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a residence on Hayes Lane at 1:39 a.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance.

The victim accused David Fierman, 28, of Wilkes-Barre, of striking him on the right side of his head.

Police said the victim then discovered his ear was lacerated and nearly detached as a result of the blow.

Fierman was taken into custody. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
