WILKES-BARRE — A motorcyclist was hurt Friday after his bike crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of South Pennsylvania Boulevard and Dana Street, police say.

The biker, a man in his mid-20s, was sent to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township after the wreck, authorities report.

Police received the call just before 3:30 p.m. and quickly blocked off Dana Street from South Main Street to the boulevard. A police K-9 unit was seen walking along Dana.

“There was no pursuit,” said an officer.

A green dirt bike was on its side at the nearby Builders’ Supply Co.

The injured man’s name and condition were not immediately available.

The accident is still under investigation.
