EXETER TWP. — An out-of-control dump truck crashed into several cars, pushing them into two separate houses, police say.

Truck driver Michael P. Hughes, of Harding, was allegedly drunk at the time.

State police say Hughes was on Route 92 around 6:45 a.m. Thursday when he crossed the center line and went into the northbound lane.

The truck then left the roadway and entered several lawns, hitting three parked vehicles: a 2014 Toyota Camry, a 2016 Nissan Rogue, and a 2016 Toyota Prius.

The impact pushed the Camry into a house at 1499 Route 92, and the Rogue was pushed into a residence at 1492 Route 92, troopers report. Both homes were damaged.

Hughes was charged with DUI, and blood-alcohol results are pending, authorities say.
