HANOVER TWP. — Police arrested two men on felony narcotics trafficking charges Thursday after serving a search warrant on a Knox Street home.
Police say Brandon Weir and Michael Pitts were arrested by the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force in conjunction with the township narcotics unit and the federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
Agents served the warrant at approximately 8:40 a.m. They recovered a Taurus 45-caliber handgun, $1,700 in cash, the drug “Molly,” marijuana, crystal meth, steroids, digital scales and packing materials.
Weir, 29, was charged with three felony counts of intent to deliver, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possession of dug paraphernalia.
Pitts, 40, was charged with two felony counts of intent to deliver and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Both Weir and Pitts were arraigned before District Justice J. Halasey and sent to Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 straight cash bail.
They have preliminary hearings scheduled for 9:30 a.m. March 21 before Halasey.
