Daisy Girl Scouts celebrate first year

Duryea Girl Scout Daisy Troop No. 30517 celebrated its first year of service with a dinner and badge award ceremony on May 27. Special awards were presented to Alessandra Price and Marissa Calogero who are moving up to Brownie Girl Scouts. Weekly meetings were held to teach leadership, teamwork and social awareness through stories, crafts and activities. Troop activities and trips included donating to a family in need, Michael’s Craft Store scavenger hunt, Christmas caroling at Mountain View Terrace Nursing Home, the circus, bowling and Dairy Queen. The girls worked hard to sell 1,392 boxes of those delicious cookies.
