PITTSTON — Two local men were arrested Wednesday for drug trafficking and related offenses after a joint investigation between several police departments.

According to Pittston police, Zachary Doron Woods, of Pittston, and Erick Mondelice, of Wilkes-Barre, were arrested on offenses stemming from vehicle stop which took place in Wilkes-Barre.

During the stop, a K-9 alerted police to the presence of narcotics.

Police found eight grams of cocaine on Mondelice, 26, and $3,100 between the two men.

Investigators were led back to Woods’ Pittston residence where they found 550 grams of cocaine, valued at $55,000.

Woods and Mondelice were charged with felony possession with intent to deliver; Mondelice also faces misdemeanor counts of tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance. Both men were also found to be violating state parole.

After arraignment by District Judge Alexandra Kokura-Kravitz, each received $50,000 cash bail and are lodged at Luzerne County Correctional Facility.

Woods is scheduled for a preliminary hearing 9:30 April 12; Mondelice’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 6.

Pittston police were assisted by Pennsylvania State Police, Wilkes-Barre city police and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force.
