HAZLETON — Police arrested three fugitives Tuesday following what police say was initially a call of a man being held against his will at gunpoint.

Police said that at 12 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the area of 20th and Church streets for a report of a man being held against his will. Samir Cajevic, 31, allegedly called another man and said he was being held against his will by men with guns, and the man then called police.

Officers secured the area and tried to make contact with people inside a residence in the area. Officers later made entry and encountered Cajevic, Janette Aleksandovic, 41, of North Church Street, and Christy Lee Corbin, 38, of North Church Street.

Police said Cajevic and Aleksandovic had warrants for failure to appear in court, while Corbin had warrants for drug and theft charges, as well as failure to appear. Officers also recovered a .45 Springfield handgun from the residence.

Police said the initial call about a man being held against his will is being investigated, but added that it is believed to be a false call. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could be filed depending on the outcome.

Cajevic, Aleksandovic, and Corbin were each taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
