HANOVER TWP. — A traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker led to police arresting a man with a warrant for his arrest in New York.

Police said David T. Ross, no age given, was stopped for an expired inspection sticker in the area of Sivley Street at 5:29 p.m. Sunday.

Ross did not have any identification and gave two different names to officers, according to police. Police also allege the odor of marijuana was detected, and officers found a plastic bag of marijuana in Ross’ possession.

Ross was transported to the state police headquarters in Wyoming, and officers determined Ross was wanted by the New York Police Department.

Ross was arraigned before District Judge James Tupper on fugitive from justice charges, and he was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $75,000 bail.

Ross is awaiting extradition to New York.
