WILKES-BARRE — Police are investigating a shooting that left a woman injured early Wednesday morning.

Police say that while officers were investigating that shooting, a male victim also arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Officers responded to a report of a female gunshot victim in the 600 block of North Main Street at 2:21 a.m. Wednesday. The 29-year-old woman was taken to a medical facility for the wound, according to police.

While officers were securing the scene, police said a 26-year-old male with a gunshot wound arrived at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. The police report did not indicate if his injures were related to the same shooting that injured the female.

Both victims are at medical facilities for treatment, but the police report did not indicate the severity of their injuries.
