WILKES-BARRE — A man is facing a felony charge of theft after he allegedly stole over $24,000 in tires from MotorWorld.

Police said an employee for the store on MotorWorld Drive reported at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday that Patrick Elliot, 31, of Pittston, had been reusing purchase orders to acquire tires.

Since February 27, Elliot allegedly acquired $24,267.78 in tires and would take them away from the business in his personal vehicle.

Elliot later admitted to the series of thefts, according to police.

Court documents indicate Elliot was arraigned before District Judge Rick Cronauer on Wednesday. Elliot is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Thomas Malloy at 11 a.m. on June 8.

Elliot is free on $10,000 unsecured bail.
