Active Adult Centers sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming Counties offer hot noon meals Monday through Friday to people 60 years of age or older. Donations from participants are gratefully accepted and needed in order to expand this program.

The following is the menu for the week of July 28:

MONDAY: Chicken salad sandwich, minestrone soup, cucumber and beet salad, whole wheat bread, crackers, ice cream sandwich, margarine, milk and coffee.

TUESDAY: Sautéed beef and broccoli, orange glazed carrots, whole wheat bread, noodles, sugar cookie

WEDNESDAY: Hot dog (low sodium), baked beans, mustard, ketchup, chopped onion, roasted potato wedges, whole wheat hot dog roll, fresh watermelon

THURSDAY: Roast pork, sweet potatoes, green beans, whole wheat roll, pineapple

FRIDAY: Roast beef (low sodium gravy), mashed potatoes, peas and pearl onions, whole wheat dinner roll, Oreo pudding, margarine, milk and coffee.
