PLAINS TWP. – An attempted robbery at Kunec’s Market on Tuesday morning was
thwarted when the man behind the counter pulled a gun on the robbers, police
said.

Officer Richard Lussi said two men, one of which was carrying a knife,
entered the business at 302 Maffet St. at 10:20 a.m.
Lussi said the men wore hooded sweatshirts closed tightly to conceal their
faces. One of the men also wore a black pillow case over his head, Lussi said.
The men fled on foot after the man behind the counter pulled a gun. The pair
were last seen running north on Wyoming Street.

Lussi declined to give additional details, saying the incident is under
investigation.
