WILKES-BARRE – The Luzerne County elected or appointed State Constables Association Chapter 30, with members in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wyoming, Monroe and Columbia Counties will meet at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Holy Saviour Church, Hillard Street. The executive board will meet at 3 p.m. Commander Col. Joe Walters will brief constables on the latest developments in constable law changes. Information on training classes for new constables interested in attending basic training for certification under Act 44 will be discussed. This will be the last meeting until Sept. 16.
PITTSTON – The West Side Starz All Star cheerleading team will hold registration for the 2007-2008 season on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the Pittston YMCA at 10 N. Main St.
The team is seeking cheerleaders of all skills levels, age 5 to 18, who are interested in cheering for a competitive cheer team. The team has been in existence for four years and competes at cheer tournaments throughout the region. Practices are held at the Pittston YMCA.
