The Wyoming Area swim team held a week-long “Swim with a Warrior” Clinic from June 16 through June 21. The goal for the 76 Wyoming Area students who participated in the clinic was to improve their swimming skills.
The children, ranging in grades kindergarten through eight, were broken into three groups: beginner, intermediate and advanced and worked on the four swim strokes (freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke) as well as diving and doing flip turns.
Saturday was “Fun Day” where the swimmers were able to compete in relays and show what they had learned during the week.
Instructors for the clinic were members of the Wyoming Area swim team led by head coach Lauren Shovlin. The Wyoming Area team is planning to have the “Swim with a Warrior Clinic” as an annual event.
