Georgia Karpovich, daughter of John Paul and Tavelynn Karpovich, Hunlock Creek, was named as Northwest’s Senior Student of the Month for January.

Karpovich has been on Student Council and Concert Choir for the past four years, Aevidum Club since its inception, and on the Prom Committee for two years. Also, for the past three years she has been a cheerleader and leads the team as captain this year.

She is a member of her church youth group, church choir, and every summer she volunteers her time at the Verizon Telecom Pioneers Sports Jamboree. She enjoys helping out in Northwest Area’s Life Skills class as a mentor/buddy to the students.

Karpovich is looking forward to attending Bloomsburg University in the fall to major in Early Childhood Education with a dual certification in Special Education with the possibility of becoming a Special Education lawyer in the future.
