NANTICOKE — Seven people, including two children, were injured Sunday
night in a crash on East Main Street, police said.
   
Ronald Sokoloski, 16, of Carey Avenue in Wilkes-Barre was traveling east in
the 500 block of East Main at 7:38 p.m. when he turned into the path of Antony
cq Vittori, 31, of Palm City, Fla., who was driving west, police said.
    Police were still investigating the crash late Sunday and could not provide
additional information. Traffic was rerouted for one hour while the crash site
was cleared.
   
Taken to the emergency rooms of either Mercy Hospital in Nanticoke or Mercy
in Wilkes-Barre were Sokoloski and his passengers, Jessica Roskowski, 15, of
Sheridan Manor Apartments, Wilkes-Barre; Nicole Godula, 15, of North
Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre; Steven O’Malia, 14, of North Sherman Street,
Wilkes-Barre; Christopher Tagnany, 6, address unavailable; Steven Tagnany, 5,
address unavailable; and Vittori and his passenger, 26-year-old Sandra
Miskewicz of East Union Street, Nanticoke.
   
The extent of their injuries was unavailable late Sunday.
   
Sokoloski and his passengers said they were wearing seat belts, police
said. It is not known if Vittori and Misckewicz were wearing seat belts.
   
Newport Township police and Nanticoke fire department assisted at the
scene.
