Donald Barna

    Donald W. Barna, of Main Street, Swoyersville, died Saturday at the
Geisinger
   
Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains TownshipBorn in Kingston, he was the
son of Anna Miterko Barna and the late Michael Barna Sr.
   
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
   
Prior to his retirement in 1995, he was employed by the Tobyhanna Army
Depot.
   
He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Swoyersville, the Maltby
Fire Department, Swoyersville, and the American Legion Post 644, Swoyersville.
   
Surviving are a daughter, Diane McGee, Kingston; a grandson; a brother,
Michael, Swoyersville; and two nephews.
   
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Bednarski Funeral
Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with a Mass of Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in
St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Swoyersville.
   
Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Swoyersville.
   
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday.
   
Parastas services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Monday.
   
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the
donor’s choice.
