It took more than a month, but the Pittston Area girls soccer team finally finished off its win over Hanover Area.

The Patriots completed a 3-0 win over the Hawkeyes on Thursday, completing a game that began back on Sept. 12 and had been suspended by rain.

Sara Ruby picked up all three goals for the Patriots and Taryn Ashby made six saves for the shutout to move the Patriots into a second-place tie in the Wyoming Valley Conference.

Crestwood 5, Wyoming Seminary 0

Gabby Termini notched a hat trick for the Comets. Her sister Olivia Termini added a goal and two assists. Natalie Sulkowski scored one goal, and Lisa Blackwell provided an assist.

Victoria Morrison made 11 saves for the Blue Knights.

Wyoming Area 2, Tunkhannock 1

In a game played Wednesday, Amanda Gallagher scored the game-winning goal in the 66th minute. Sam Acacio also scored for the Warriors.

Tunkhannock’s Mya Toczko gave the Tigers a lead in the 18th minute.


Wyoming Area 3, Berwick 0

Brian Buckman had a hand in all three goals with two goals and a assist as the Warriors closed out their season with a 9-4-2 mark.

Nick Gushka also scored for Wyoming Area, while Josh Donvito registered an assist.

Nanticoke 8, MMI Prep 0

Ed Lukowski netted four goals for the Trojans. Mike Mavus added a pair, and Wiston Godoy finished with a three-point effort on a goal and an assist.

Mike Mihneski also scored for Nanticoke.


Wyoming Valley West 5, Northwest 1

Danielle Grega scored three goals to lift the Spartans to victory. Alex Gonda contributed a goal and an assist. Gabby Griffin also tallied a goal.

Olivia Magni tabbed the lone goal for the Rangers.
