The Revolution Ice Centre invites boys and girls ages 4-9 years old from 8-9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 for a Try Hockey for Free clinic to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basics of the sport in a fun, safe environment.


Try Hockey For Free Day is part of Come Play Hockey Month. This program, designed to provide youth hockey associations a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport, is a joint effort between USA Hockey, the National Hockey League, and NHL member clubs. With Total Hockey and Liberty Mutual Responsible Sports, the official sponsors of Try Hockey For Free Day, USA Hockey has 500 locations offering kids between the ages of 4 and 9 years old this unique opportunity.

Spirit Week Parade


As part of Warrior Spirit Week in preparation for the Wyoming Area vs Pittston Area Football Game, there will be a parade and bonfire on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The parade will commence at 6:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Area Secondary Center and travel to the Wyoming West Wyoming Exeter Panther Football Field via Wyoming Avenue.


A pep rally and bonfire will be held at the WWE Panther Football Field once the parade arrives between 6:457 p.m. The event is open to the Wyoming Area community. Parade line up begins at 6 p.m. at the Wyoming Area Secondary Center. Come out and show your Warrior Spirit.


Zumba Class


Pittston Area Cross Country team is hosting a Zumba Class at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28 at the Pittston Area High School gym. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. All proceeds benefit the team.


WA Girls basketball


The Wyoming Area Girls Basketball Parents Association will have a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m., at the WA High School, Room 164.


It is important that all parents from grades 7 through 12 attend. We will be electing officers and discussing upcoming events for the 2013-2014 basketball season. Please remember the season is here and we need your participation to make it a great season for the team.


Waleski Camp


Openings are available in the Stan Waleski Fall Basketball Camp to be held at the Greater Pittston YMCA on Sunday Oct. 27 from noon to 4 p.m. for boys and girls in grades 2 through 7. The camp stresses skills, fundamentals, competitions, team play and fun with all players receiving a camp T-shirt. For camp information call Coach Waleski at 570-457-1206 or Coach LoBrutto at 570-654-8030. Interested players can e mail stanwaleski@yahoo.com. Players can also walk in and register at the YMCA 30 minutes prior to camp.
