It was senior night for Wyoming Area. And a few seniors stepped.


Sam Acacio crushed 16 kills to lead the Warriors to a straight-set victory over Hazleton Area Tuesday night in Wyoming Valley Conference volleyball action.


Audrey Hiedacavage led the Wyoming Area passing attack with 31 assists, while Mallory Bohan chipped in six kills in the win.


Hanover Area 3, Pittston Area 1


After dropping its first two sets fairly convincingly, Pittston Area made a game of it in the final two sets, eventually falling to Hanover Area, 3-1, in Wyoming Valley Conference volleyball action Tuesday.


The game scores were, 25-14, 25-21, 11-25, 25-23. Hanover Area’s Toni Elick logged 19 service points, 12 digs and four kills to lead Hanover Area to the four-set victory.


Heather Grady had 21 assists in the win, while Kelly McCarthy added seven kills and four blocks for the Hawkeyes.
