Second Steph’s Fall 5K a huge success

The Second Annual Steph’s Fall 5K was held on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Luzerne County Sports Complex in Forty Fort.


The annual run benefits the Stephanie Godri-Johnston Memorial Scholarship Fund and raising colon cancer awareness, with additional funds going to the Colon Cancer Alliance.


The race featured 180 registered participants with 152 finishers in the run/walk event. Thirty-five volunteers were on hand to help with the event.


Over 30 business sponsored or donated their time and services and the starter was Nick Alzelmi. Here are the results of the second annual Steph’s Fall 5k:


Overall Winner 5k Run (Male) - Matt Macievic, 18:57


Overall Winner 5k Run (Female) - Karen Welby, 21:28 (new Steph’s Fall 5K female record)


Overall Winner 3k Walk (Male) - David Stott


Overall Winner 3k Walk (Female) - Dee Cordora
