WILKES-BARRE — The King’s College men’s soccer team will host Lycoming on Thursday at 6 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium in the NCAA Division III.

King’s will be making its first-ever national tournament appearance after winning the MAC Freedom Conference title on Saturday with a 2-1 triumph over FDU-Florham.

MU nets at-large bid

Misericordia earned an at-large bid to the NCAA championships. The Cougars will face Montclair State at Carnegie Mellon on Saturday.


MU gets home game

Misericordia will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars will face Drew in Saturday’s opener at 11 a.m. while Trinity will play Elizabethtown at 1:30. The winners will play Sunday at 1:30.


Wilkes heads to Ursinus

The Freedom Conference champs from Wilkes will travel to Ursinus College on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. for the first round of the Division III NCAA Field Hockey Tournament in Collegeville.

The Colonels won the Freedom Conference championship 2-1 Saturday over Misericordia.


Wilkes into ECAC tourney

Wilkes has been chosen to compete in the ECAC Southeast Tournament.

The Colonels will travel to Neumann University in Aston for two matches on Saturday. Following a bye in the first round, Wilkes will face host Neumann in one of two semifinals.


Lehman tickets on sale

Tickets for the District 2 Class 2A football championship, Lakeland at Lake-Lehman on Friday night at 7 p.m. will be sold this week at Lake-Lehman.

Tickets are available Tuesday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. to noon in the athletic office. They are $6 for adults and $4 for student. For more information, call 570-255-2892.
