Another season of high school tennis kicks into full gear this week and this season could be full of surprises. Last year's 3A WVC champions, Crestwood, lost all seven starters from last year's 12-4 team. Despite losing last year's District II 2A singles champion, Nathalie Joanlanne, Wyoming Seminary is still eyeing a return to the District II finals.

For schools like Hazleton Area and Hanover Area, just getting enough girls on the squad has been tough. Both teams are low on numbers, which is always a concern during a long season.

2013 Record: 12-4 (AAA WVC Champions)

Home Court: Wright Township Park

Key Losses: Christy Bowman, Brittany Stanton

Key Players: Keira Mongeon, Sr.; Zoya Rahman, Sr.; Ana Rahman Sr.

Coach's Outlook: “The team lost all seven starters from last year. This is the first time in the 17 years I have been coaching that this has happened. It will definitely be a learning curve for the players and coaches on the team. The players this year are inexperienced in league play but we hope to improve as the year goes along. We will be adjusting the lineup as the season goes along. Most of the teams lost a starting player or two but losing the entire lineup will be an uphill battle so I would hope to try and get to .500 and see if we can upset a team or two along the way.”
