Teresa Ryan, 91, of Kingston, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, in the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Unit at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Pittston, Teresa was a daughter of the late Austin and Mary McDermott Turner. She was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1936. Teresa had resided in Kingston most of her life and was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston.

Preceding Teresa in death were her husband, Mark Ryan; an infant sister, Agnes Turner; a brother, Jack Turner; and a son-in-law, Mark Voitek.

Surviving are her son, Mark Ryan, Kingston; daughter, Maureen Keating, and her husband, Frank, West Pittston; sister Margaret Shuffler, Sunnyside, Wash.; as well as several nieces and nephews; and Teresa’s extended family, the Steinkirchners.

Funeral services will held be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Ignatius Church, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. A private interment will be made in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Dr. and Mrs. Robert Engel, the nurses and staff of Preferred Home Health Care and the nurses of Hospice Care of VNA at Heritage House for the professional and compassionate care they gave Teresa.
