Charles Prekel, formerly of Green Street, Pittston, died Tuesday in the
Davis
Nursing Home, MountaintopHe was born in Pittston, a son of the late Frank
and Frances Dembek Prekel, and was educated in Pittston schools.
Mr. Prekel was formerly employed as a maintenance man at the former
Pittston Paper, Exeter Township.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Duryea.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Anthony, Steve and Joseph; and a
sister, Mrs. Helen Korick.
Surviving are sisters, Sister Theresa Marie, a Bernardine nun stationed at
St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hazleton; Mrs. Frances Narsavage, Pittston; brother,
Stanley, Pittston; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Bernard J. Piontek
Funeral Home, 204 Main St., Duryea, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy
Rosary Church.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Duryea.
Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. Thursday until service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of
the donor’s choice.
