    Morgan Elliott Rose, 79, of Dushore, died Saturday at the Laporte United
   
Methodist Home, LaporteBorn June 9, 1916, in Mainesburg Sullivan Township,
Tioga County, he was the son of the late Warren Gray and Ione McIntee Rose.
   
He was a 1934 graduate of Mansfield High School and attended Mansfield
State Teachers College where he lettered in basketball for four years and was
active with the M Club and was on the student council.
   
After graduating with degrees in English, social studies and geography on
June 20, 1938, he began teaching in Hicksville, Long Island, N.Y.
   
He taught elementary school in Suffolk County, N.Y., and completed graduate
work at the Teachers College of Columbia University, New York City, in 1944.
   
In 1945, he moved to Dushore and became the principal at the Estella High
School. He later worked for the former Pealer’s Drug Store in Dushore.
   
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Dushore.
   
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Emma G. Goodwin, on May
26, 1989.
   
Surviving are a sister, Dr. Leone Roselle, New York City.
   
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday from the P. Dean Homer
Funeral Home 206 Water St., Dushore, with the Rev. Robert W. Brown, pastor,
officiating.
   
Interment will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Nordmont.
