The Wyoming Area boys competed in the District 2 2A Track and Field Championships of Tuesday. The Wyoming Area girls and the Pittston Area boys and girls competed in the 3A championships on Thursday. Both events were at Scranton Memorial Stadium.
On Tuesday in 2A the WA boys finished fourth in the team standings after Scranton Prep, Holy Redeemer, and Valley View. The WA boys won 16 medals including gold in the 400 relay. Nate Bowden and Aiden Marich won three medals each.
On Thursday in 3A the PA boys won six medals and were seventh, the PA girls won 13 medals and were 11th and the WA girls won four medals and were 13th.
In the 3A boys meet Pittston Area senior Nate Zondlo won both the 1,600- and 3200-meter runs. Jason McCracken won three medals
Sarah Mandicott won three medals for the PA girls including gold in the discus.
Nikki Pardini won two medals for the WA girls including gold in the triple jump.
