WILKES-BARRE — Wilkes University will host a blood drive in memory of George F. Ralston from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Henry Student Center, 84 W. South St.
Ralston, who established the college’s athletic program and was a former dean, died last month.
MOUNTAIN TOP — State Rep. Karen Boback, R-Harveys Lake, will begin holding satellite office hours in various locations throughout the district.
Satellite hours will be held at the Salem Township Municipal Building, 38 Bomboy Lane in Berwick, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. It will be staffed by Lisa Rosser of Boback’s Mountain Top office. Rosser is expected to be at this location on the first Friday of every month starting in May. Constituents are urged to contact the Mountain Top office to make an appointment at least one day before visiting the satellite office.
DURYEA – Duryea Borough Sewer Authority bills for April have been mailed. If you haven’t received yours, please call the office.
Residents are advised that there was a printing error on the bills. Instead of October Billing, it should have been April Billing. The due date on the billing cards is correct.
The sewer authority office will be closed today. New office hours for April and May are 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
DURYEA – Borough council will hold its April work session and council meeting on Thursday in the municipal building.
The public work session will be held at 6:30 p.m. and the monthly meeting will follow.
Also, the borough’s street department will be closed today. Garbage will be collected a day late.
Yard waste collection begins Friday.
WYOMING – Recycling will be collected on Thursdays. Newspapers and commingled recycling will alternate weeks for pickup.
Newspapers will be collected on Thursday and April 26. Commingled recycling will be collected on April 19.
The borough administration office, tax office and street department will be closed today.
Council will meet for its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. today at Wyoming Hose Co. No. 2 on Third Street.
