A popular winter family activity is returning to McDade Park in Scranton.

Lackawanna County Commissioners Corey D. O’Brien, Jim Wansacz and Patrick M. O’Malley announced that sleigh riding is back on the list of activities offered at the park.

The activity will be offered free-of-charge to the public.

The sled hill area is located near the 911 Memorial across from the park’s second pavilion. It will be open seven days a week from dawn until dusk with free parking.

Safety measures have been taken with large bales of hay located at the bottom of the hill to cushion any contact. Safety rules have been posted for everyone to adhere to in an attempt to make it an enjoyable experience.

Contact the park’s office at 570-963-6764 to check on the conditions after a snowfall.
