Members of the Double “R” Twirlettes, under the direction of Kathleen Y. Mercatili, performed in the 2014 New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Twirlettes marched more than 40 blocks up 5th Avenue and twirled for approximately two million spectators who lined the parade route. They marched past St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Central Park , the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and other landmarks. This was the sixth consecutive year the Twirlettes were invited to perform in the parade. They were the only baton twirling group in the line up that included bands and performance troops from across the United States and Europe.
