WILKES-BARRE — A hearing on an injunction regarding proposed sale of the Sherman Hills apartment complex has been set for Friday afternoon in Luzerne County Court.
Attorneys for the family of Shantique Goodson, who was shot to death outside an apartment building on Nov. 11, want a judge to order that the proceeds from any sale be held in escrow pending the outcome of their lawsuit against the current owners, alleging the property owners failed to provide adequate security.
Attorneys with the Anzalone Law Office filed their injunction motion last week, naming as defendants Brooklyn, N.Y,-based Park Management Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sherman Hills Realty LLC.
Earlier this month, New Jersey-based Treetop Development indicated it is involved in a contract of sale with Sherman Hills Realty, with a transfer target date reportedly set for Tuesday. It was not immediately clear this afternoon whether that date still holds.
Judge Joseph Sklarosky is scheduled to preside over the 3 p.m. hearing.
