Juanita Solomon, of Plymouth, passed away at home on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Juanita was courageous and had a zest for life with a fighting spirit. She never gave up in her battle with cancer and fought the battle until the end.

Her family was her treasure here on Earth. If you just asked about one of her kids she would light up with pride. If you spoke of one of her grandchildren, her glow could light up any amount of darkness, and having her great-grandson’s hand in hers was what she felt life was all about. She loved and found joy in her cat, Shadow, and her dog, Godon.

Life without Juanita Solomon will never be the same, and she will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, David Solomon; brothers, Guy Johnson, Rawlin Bilby and Lyle Chapman; mother, Ina Johnson.

She leaves behind a son, David Solomon; daughter, Sheila Golightley; son-in-law, Jeffrey Golightley; grandson, Jeffrey Golightley; granddaughters, Jaclyn Golightley and Lora Golightley; great-grandson, Aiden Golightley; sister, Cathryne Callahan; also nieces; nephews; and friends.

Juanita’s funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Piszczek-Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 70 E. Main Street, Plymouth, with the Rev. James Sienkiewicz officiating. Internment will be at the Sorber Cemetery, Muhlenberg, Pa. Friends may call today, from 5 to 7 p.m.
