After missing last year’s Back Mountain Library Auction due to Lyme disease, artist Sue Hand will be back at her easel this year for the 68th Back Mountain Memorial Library Auction honoring our area’s youth.

Joining her to complete this year’s Auction Art Team will be two of her high school art students, Samantha Packer, a junior at Wyoming Valley West High School, and Kelsey Monahan, a senior at Dallas High School.

Both Packer and Monahan are accomplished artists. They exhibit regularly in various Back Mountain and Wyoming Valley art competitions. Both students won major awards at the Suzanne Maria Rossetti Memorial Juried Art Contest this past March.

All three paintings produced by the Auction Art Team will go over the auction block on Sunday, July 13 to raise money in support of the Back Mountain Memorial Library. Visitors to the auction will see the artworks come to life July 10, 11 and 12, the three days preceding the auction of their paintings.
