Heather Lynn Muchler is escorted outside a district judge’s office in July.

WILKES-BARRE — A Shickshinny woman has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from allegations she stabbed her boyfriend.

Heather Lynn Muchler, 30, entered pleas Monday before Judge Tina Polachek Gartley on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and a weapons charge, according to court papers.

Muchler was remanded to prison after Monday’s hearing, court papers say, and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 2.

Court documents indicate she is to have no contact with the man she stabbed, and must participate in anger management classes.

Kingston Police arrested Muchler in July, alleging she stabbed Jens Sebastian Brandenstein in the upper abdomen while they were driving through Pringle.

Muchler told reporters after her July arraignment that she did stab her boyfriend, and was defending herself because she was tired of him beating her up. She said she was struck in the head and had been vomiting since.

Muchler’s shoulders displayed visible bruising at the time.

According to a criminal complaint, Brandenstein was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt with Muchler seated in the front passenger seat and Ross Ogerman Jr. riding in the rear seat.

Ogerman allegedly told police Muchler ripped the rear-view mirror from the windshield and threw it at Brandenstein as the couple was arguing.

Brandenstein and Muchler punched each other as Brandenstein drove, Ogerman told police.

Muchler then threatened Brandenstein, saying, “I swear I’m going to stab you,” and took a knife from her purse and stabbed her boyfriend in the stomach, the complaint says.

Muchler told police she tossed the knife in bushes along Hoyt Street, where she ran from the vehicle, according to the complaint.

Brandenstein was treated for his injuries at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.
