WILKES-BARRE — Aside from Saturday night, it’s looking like a great weekend is in store for the Wyoming Valley.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 54 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. Sunny skies accompanied the chilly morning for morning commuters.
Partly sunny skies will stick around for the rest of the day, with a high in the lower 70s. Partly cloudy skies are predicted for tonight, with a low near 50 degrees.
Saturday will also bring sunny skies, with a high in the upper 70s. The chance for showers and thunderstorms will return on Saturday night. A 40 percent chance of precipitation is predicted for mainly after midnight, with up to a quarter of an inch of rain possible. Saturday night’s low will be in the upper 50s.
There will be a chance of showers before 10 a.m. on Sunday — otherwise, partly sunny skies will return to the Wyoming Valley. Sunday’s high will be in the upper 70s. Sunday night will bring partly cloudy skies, with a low in the lower 60s.
