WILKES-BARRE - A gunman robbed the Uni-Mart at the intersection of Parrish Street and Hazle Avenue around 8:45 p.m.

A man who was waiting in a car while his girlfriend was inside buying a drink said he saw the gunman walk by him into the store.

The gunman ordered the witness’ girlfriend to the floor and told the clerk to do so when he went behind the counter and took money from the register, the witness said.

The gunman fled on Hazle Avenue toward Forrest Street.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 6 feet tall, with a goatee, wearing jeans, a long sleeve black shirt and a black baseball cap.

Police said no one was injured.
