William Pernisek
   
March 27, 1995
    William Pernisek of West Broad Street, Nanticoke, died Monday at the Mercy
   
Health Care Center, ScrantonBorn in New Alexandria, he was the son of the
late Matthew and Ursula Pelko Pernisek, and he resided in Finleyville for most
of his life before moving to Nanticoke in 1988.
   
Prior to his retirement he operated a barber shop in Finleyville for 40
years. He was also a member of the Streamliners, a well-known polka band in
the Pittsburgh area.
   
He was a member of St. Francis Church, Nanticoke, and the Slovene National
Benefit Society.
   
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Damp.
   
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Riezer; son, William, Hempstead,
N.Y.; daughter, Mrs. John (Judy) Minsavage, Pleasant Hills; one grandson;
brothers, Matthew, Pleasant Hills; Harold, Allison Park; Albert, Edinboro;
sisters, Matilda Lacy, Pauline Baer and Stella Walter, all of Pittsburgh;
Anita Marietta, Lower Burrell; Sally Warren, McKeesport.
   
Funeral services will be held 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Kearney Funeral
Home, 22 Prospect St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in
St. Francis Church, Nanticoke.
   
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
   
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
