James Hoover

    James Thomas Hoover, 68, of New Albany, died Friday at homeBorn Aug. 2,
1927, in Scranton, he was the son of the late William H. and Virginia Caroline
Palmer Hoover.
   
He and his family moved to Lopez and he worked for the former Weldon
Manufacturing Co., Lopez.
   
He and his wife, the former Eva G. Caseman, of Shunk, were married Dec. 27,
1952.
   
He worked for many years for Stabler Construction Co. of Harrisburg, and
later the former Endicott-Johnson Manufacturing Co. of Mildred, before
retiring.
   
He and his wife lived in Lopez most of their lives and later moved to
Dushore for several years. They resided in New Albany for the past five years.
   
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Dushore.
   
He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 16, 1995.
   
Surviving are sons, Larry D. Hoover, Durell; Garry T. and Floyd W. Hoover,
both of Dushore; Bryan J. Hoover, Marietta; daughters, Mrs. James (Ruth)
Magee, New Albany; Mrs. Gene (Rose) Burgess, Burlington; Mrs. Larry (Reah)
Goulding, Hummelstown; sisters, Mrs. Victor (Mary Louise) Stavisky, Verona,
N.J.; Emily Benjamin and Mrs. Joseph (Tina) Tabor, both of Lopez.
   
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from P. Dean Homer Funeral
Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, with the Rev. Robert W. Brown, his pastor,
officiating.
   
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Dushore.
   
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
