The Abington Business and Professional Association’s (ABPA) annual scarecrow contest officially started Friday, Oct. 11. Businesses, who have signed up, will be displaying scarecrows they’ve made in front of their business, and members of the community are asked to vote for their favorite.
The ABPA business scarecrow photos and addresses will appear online at www.theabingtonjournal.com.
Businesses scheduled to participate in the contest include: Altered Couture, McGovern Insurance, Bunnell’s Hardware, Sole to Soul, Kidazzle/Sonia’s Contemporary Clothing, Everything Natural, CLOE & Company, Paulette’s Pretty Purses, Steve Pronko Jewelry, Sunrise Cafe, O’Boyle Real Estate, Summit Frameworks, Sanderson State Street Salon, James Simrell Designs, Pennstar Bank, Clarks Summit Senior Living and Abington Art Studio.
Vote for your favorites by Wed., Oct. 30 in one of three ways email, in person, regular mail. and you’ll be entered to win great prizes. :
HOW TO VOTE:
1. Email your favorite scarecrow and its location to email@example.com
Include in the subject line “Scarecrow Contest” and then in the email your name, town and phone number. We won’t publish them anywhere- it’s just to verify your vote if we need to do so.
2. Drop off your vote and same information as mentioned above or send in regular mail to The Abington Journal 211 S. State Street, Clarks Summit PA 18411 Attn: Scarecrow Contest
If our office is closed- you are welcome to leave your vote in our bright blue drop off box in front of The Abington Journal.
