WILKES-BARRE — A Kingston man will serve one year of probation in connection with a May 16 incident in which he stole another man’s cell phone in Swoyersville.

Chris Benussi, 20, appeared before Judge Lesa Gelb Thursday in Luzerne County Court, where he pleaded guilty to charges of theft by unlawful taking and harassment.

According to police, Benussi stole a phone from a man walking on Shoemaker Street at about 12:15 a.m. Benussi and the phone were found in a residence on Sullivan Street, Forty Fort, police said.

Benussi also must pay a $100 fine and successfully complete anger-management classes. He is not to have any contact with the victim.
